Learn – Connect – Create . Season’s classes have started! See what’s on April and May
This spring, Oiti’s Festival and Xwra Artland present the “Xwra Farm School”, an Environmental Education and Arts Workshop for children which is aiming to restore children’s connection with nature.
From April 1st to May 31st 2016, guided visits to Xwra’s farm are organized for children ( ages 4 – 12 ) in cooperation with Public Elementary Schools, Kindergartens, other Educational Institutions or group of families. Xwra Farm School’s guides are qualified teachers and environmentalists, who help each child to embrace its natural curiosity and offer meaningful child-based learning experiences that will strengthen their skill development and help to nurture a lasting connection with the natural world.
Xwra Farm School’s Classes
- 1 – 22 April 2016 : Guided tour to the farm . All about composting. Outdoor games: Scavenger Hunt, riddles, singing.
- 25 April – 14 May 2016 : The vegetable garden. How to plant/grow/water/replant vegetables
- 16 – 31 May 2016 : The cereals workshop. Milling wheat, kneading and baking bread
All classes end with an Art workshop and all the paintings created will be included in the 2nd Belle Arte for Kids exhibition held by the 10th Oiti Festival during summer 2016.
Duration of visit to Xwra Farm School : 1 – 1,5 hours
Fee : 4 € per person
A teacher’s/parent’s presence in the visit is necessary.
Each visit to Xwra Farm School is planned according to the age of the children participating and it diversifies through seasons. These nature-based learning classes are more than just playing outside! The program focuses on sensory learning experiences and it ends with creating artistic crafts, theatrical play etc.
